Descriptor : number of phloem strand

Descriptor type : categorical

Must be described on developed fvb (not on the fvb near the apex).
It is preferable to describe the central fvb.

In some stems, the phloem of the subcortical zone is in one piece and that of the central zone presents two parts isolated by sclerified cells. Only some of Calamoideae have two strands.
