Common name: Cape genet.
Synonyms: methi Roberts, 1948.
Distribution: South Africa.
Habitat: fynbos, grassland, coastal forest.
Sympatric species: G. felina, G. "letabae" (narrow hybrid zone in KwaZulu-Natal).
